“Cannon Construction were employed by our client as the main contractor on an extensive whole house refurbishment with an energy saving brief using specialist materials and construction processes.
They were required to consider the implications of the latest best practice guidelines on strategies such as air – tightness, thermal bridge reduction, moisture in heritage buildings, natural buildings materials and M&E coordination.
The need to collaborate with additional specialist contractors required by the client meant that they had a responsibility to program their demolition and remedial work, as well as the new construction, around other companies installing insulations and air – tightness products.
This required both project and site manager to have a good understanding of the eco-initiatives being undertaken by the client to ensure that other products and processes were well organised.
This was successfully completed and the work was well managed and executed, with quality inspections having no requirement for remedial work to be instructed during the contract.”
